Performance

Kurpark Wilhelmshaven

In LIMBUS, sound structures draw a wall through the avenue-like ground of the Kurpark Wilhelmshaven next to the Kunsthalle.

Especially the place that promises healing shows the worries and fears of the current time. The composition consists of polyrhythmics, choral passages and text overlays in which choreographic actions are performed by a central figure. Under the protection of anonymity, the performer leaves room for any projection and forms radical images with fog generators, stroboscopes and microphones.

In the limbo – the first circle of hell in Dante Alighieri's Inferno – Thomas Pfaffinger sees many analogies to current developments. A feeling of end times, a feeling experienced by almost every generation is the starting point for his biggest performance work to date.
